Traditional shape Good needle retention in water
Blue Spruce needles are bluish green with silvery undersides. The needles are attached to a peg-like projection from the twigs which give the twigs a prickly texture even after the needles have fallen off. The bark is pale to dark gray and furrowed. The blue spruce, Picea Pungens, is a tree native to North America and is also commonly referred to as the green or Colorado spruce thanks to its area of origin. With its distinct blue-silver needles that fade to deep green, ideal shape and relative lack of needle drop.
Why choose a real tree?
Reduce your carbon footprint by purchasing British grown trees, locally. It can take a single tree up to 10 years (thats approximately 1 Christmas tree lifetime) to filter the amount of CO2 produced by a 90minute car journey, so the closer the better!
Recycling your tree will reduce your carbon footprint by up to 80%. Compost a natural tree after Christmas to use as mulch in your garden. Or alternatively, have your tree picked up by the council and turned into chipping. Visit www.recyclenow.com for more information.
Every tree harvested has another planted in it's place. 1 million Christmas trees; thats 350 acres of lungs, filtering up to 22 million kg of CO2 from the atmosphere every year.
